If you are looking for an economical TV for your desk, bathroom, or other small space, I would consider looking into the Colby TFTV1022. This is certainly not the quality you get from an HDTV or plasma set, but it isn’t intended to be. It is a basic straightforward set with no bells and whistles.

I found that the TV itself doesn’t pick up any channels, but that’s what the antennae is for and they do their job beautifully. It gives you the option to watch in 4:3 or switch over to 16:9. This is great for watching widescreen movies, but the 4:3 works the best for regular TV watching. I thought the picture was good once I got the settings in the right spot. It takes a bit of work, but once they’re set you don’t have to worry about them.

It does have coax connections as well as RCA composite, VGA, and a spot for a headphone jack, but if you are expecting to do the same thing with this that you do with a $3000 you are in for a big disappointment.

I don’t think the sound quality of the Coby TFTV1022 is a whole lot different than any other computer or television this size. I wouldn’t want to watch it 12 hours a day, but for areas that only get used an hour or two everyday it is perfectly acceptable. For a space-saving set that I’ll use in my office or bathroom, it is a good buy for the price.
