Summary: Freakin\ Amazing
I had to replace the cheap Access converter I had that crapped out. This time I did my research and quality was the deciding factor for me. Shortly after I plugged this in and attached my amplified antenna (Winegard SS 3000 Indoor UHF/VHF Antenna)I went from having 12 fuzzy stations to 49 stations with darn near HD quality. My old television has new life. With my new converter box and hulu I\ll never pay for cable again, this is my best purchase of 2010 by far. This box is freakin\ amazing so if you live in a large city with lots of buildings that make it impossible to get a clear path to your nearest transmitter this is a must buy.

Summary: best I know of
I've had this model for three months now and its better then any other tuner I have. It picks up more stations and has the features I would hope for: signal strength meter, add channel scan for new antenna position and the show guide are the ones I use the most. Well worth the $30 I spent for it and if I buy another will be the one I get.

Summary: Not perfect, but close..
The picture quality is excellent by far, not to mention the epg 12 hour guide. And with the S-cable is a plus. By far channel master has the best of all the boxes. With that said there are only two things I don't like, one the design of the remote could have been more thought out. And second they could have went above s-cable to an hdmi cable. For those who have flat screens. Overall a great buy and you really do get what you pay for, the price is worth it.

Summary: Converter better than top shelf 32 Toshiba Cinema Series TV tuner
Nicely featured digital to analog converter with very sensitive scanner (missed nothing) which can be updated periodically without erasing the previous scan, handy signal strength meter which enables hacking antenna to improve weakest channels signal collection and theres a decent channel guide for the next 12 hours when the station has made it available. The S-Video output easily rivals the quality of the best premium channels (HBO, Cinemax, Showtime and Starz) from Direct TV Satellite. Free HDTV is the BOMB. Sound is way superior to analog or Direct TV. Over 35 channels scanned, its CD quality all the way. I get 17 channels in HD: mostly 1080i and a few in 720P. Half are in 5.1 channel Dolby, not just stereo which is also excellent. The TV just passed its 20th birthday and although I could buy a 50 plasma, it would be wrong to toss out the picture and sound quality on the 32 cathode ray TV now....its the best it has ever been in its 20 years. The Channel Masters picture and sound quality, along with the digital conversion has upgraded this older, fine TV from a 7 to a 9 out of 10. Now I have to wait until the TV fries itself before I justify replacing it! Great converter!
